Solaris 2.5 Free Software for Intel Processors

I have had many requests for Solaris 2.5 software for Intel processors. I have not yet been able to get to the ports myself. But, I have been able to collect ports done elsewhere. This page contains pointers to those sites and also to all the packages collected on our ftp://ftp.sunfreeware.com./pub/freeware/intel/2.5/ anonymous ftp site.

Disclaimer. We did not do the ports listed below. We have not tested them or used them. Use them utterly at your own risk. Check the actual sites for README's or updates. Go to our main Disclaimer for more details.

Netscape users -- you might need to hold down the shift key when you click on an ftp link below to save the program in your file system.

This software is provided by Joe Shamblin at Duke University. He is constructing an HTML Index for this work.

Source: http://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/solaris/i86pc/

Source: ftp://ftp.quintus.com/pub/GNU/2.4/i386/

These are listed as 2.4 binaries and might not work in 2.5.

Source: ftp://ftp.micromuse.co.uk/pub/packages/intel/2.5solaris/compiled/

The Micromuse site is a mirror of ftp://server.berkeley.edu/pub/intel/2.5solaris/compiled/ which at the moment does not seem to contain these files. I have included both the /compiled/ and /compiled/binaries/ directories. There may be some duplication of resources. See also the Bonn mirror site of Micromuse

Files in Micromuse /compiled/ directory. (called /pub/freeware/intel/2.5/server.berkeley.edu/ on the NCE server)

Files in the Micromuse /compiled/binaries/ directory. (called /pub/freeware/intel/2.5/server.berkeley.edu/binaries/ on the NCE server)
